How Clients Make Payments


At ShowcaseYourself, we make it easy and secure for clients to pay for professional services. Our escrow-based payment system ensures both parties are protected, giving you confidence as you hire and collaborate with top talent.


Step 1: Understanding the Escrow System

When you hire talent on ShowcaseYourself, your payment is held in escrow. This means the funds are securely stored and only released to the talent after the work is completed and approved by you.

Creates a fair, transparent transaction process for both sides.


Step 2: Adding Funds to Escrow

Once you've reviewed the proposal and agreed on project terms, you’ll need to add funds to escrow before the work begins.

Here's how to do it:

Click the "Add Funds” button on the deposit page.

You’ll be redirected to the Razorpay payment gateway.

Complete the payment using your preferred method (Credit Card, UPI, Net Banking, etc.).

Once the payment is confirmed, you’ll see the escrow amount updated on your deposit dashboard.


Step 3: Payment Breakdown — Service Fee and GST

ShowcaseYourself charges a 6% service fee on all payments made by clients. Additionally, an 18% GST (Goods & Services Tax) is applied to the service fee, as required by Indian tax laws.

Example Breakdown:

Project Cost: ₹20,000

Service Fee (6%): ₹1200

GST (18% of ₹600): ₹216

Total Payment: ₹21,416


The total you pay includes the service fee and applicable taxes. The talent will receive the agreed-upon project cost, minus platform fees on their end.


Step 4: Managing and Releasing Funds

Your escrowed funds will remain secure until the talent submits the work. After reviewing the final delivery:

If you're satisfied, click “Release Funds” to pay the talent.

If there’s a dispute, our support team can assist in mediation.


Step 5: Payment Confirmation and Invoices

After payment is made, you’ll receive:

A confirmation email.

A downloadable invoice with a breakdown of the project cost, service fee, and GST.

A record of the transaction in your transaction history page under the deposit section

How to withdraw payment as a Talent


As a talent on ShowcaseYourself, getting paid for your work is simple, secure, and transparent. We use an escrow-based payment system to ensure that you receive payment only after your client has funded the project and approved your work. This article covers how the system works, how you can withdraw funds, and how to set up your bank account.


Step 1: How the Escrow System Works for Talent

When a client hires you, they must first fund the project or milestone through our escrow system. These funds are securely held by ShowcaseYourself until you complete the agreed-upon work. Once the client reviews and approves your delivery, the payment is released from escrow and becomes available in your ShowcaseYourself account.

You can start work only after funds are deposited in escrow.

Once the work is submitted and approved, payment is released to you.

This ensures a safe and fair transaction for both you and the client.


Step 2 : Service Fees and Final Earnings

ShowcaseYourself charges a 6% service fee on your total earnings. Additionally, 18% GST is applied to this service fee (not deducted from your earnings but added on top of the platform fee).


Example:

Project Amount: ₹10,000

Service Fee (6%): ₹600

GST (18% of ₹600): ₹108

Total Fee: ₹708

Amount You Receive: ₹9,400


The fee helps us maintain a secure platform and offer reliable support to all users.


Step 3 : Withdrawing Your Funds

Once funds are released from escrow, they become available in your wallet. You can then initiate a withdrawal to your bank account.

Withdrawal Process:

Go to your Talent Dashboard > Payouts > Add Bank account > withdrawal

Enter the amount you want to withdraw.

Select your linked bank account.

Confirm the withdrawal request.

Withdrawals are usually processed within 5–7 business days.


Step 4 : withdrawal Confirmation and Invoices

You will receive an email confirmation after each successful withdrawal.

You can update or add multiple bank accounts, but only one can be active at a time for withdrawals.

You can check your full payout history anytime under Dashboard > Payouts > Payout History.

Invoices are automatically generated for each payment and can be downloaded from your Payout History for record-keeping and tax purposes.


Things to Keep in Mind

Ensure your bank details are accurate to avoid delays.

Withdrawals may take longer on weekends or public holidays


Step 5 : Requesting Milestone Payments

For larger projects, you can request milestone payments during the work. Simply go to The talent call, click “Milestone payments”, and enter the amount and description. Once the client approves and funds it in escrow, you can begin that part of the project. After submission and approval, the funds will be released to your wallet.
